Jalapeño (Capsicum annuum) is probably the most popular and familiar hot pepper. Originally from Mexico, jalapeño is now recognized worldwide as a versatile culinary pepper that is rich in flavor with a good amount of heat. Can be harvested when green and only gets spicier as it ripens red. Easy to grow and prolific.
